We create both so everyone has the ability to enjoy Lola Ramona shoes just the way they like them.  Ava Sister Lola Ramona and Vegan leather About four years ago Lola Ramona chose to start making shoes in Vegan leather. We started to find the best way to produce it and find ways of making it so it can live up to our standard of quality.  Today, we make a lot of our shoes and all of our bags in Vegan leather. That´s why we want to share what you can expect when you buy our Vegan products. Small Viola  What is Vegan leather? We have found a way to make the synthetic fiber act as close to a natural fiber as possible. We do this by shredding the synthetic fiber and pressing it on top of a cotton fiber. That makes it more breathable and the product will over time act more like a natural fiber. The glue used for the shoes are completely free of animal products. We create vegan textiles in many different types. Satin, suede, patent, leather, cork and many more can be created 100% Vegan.  Ava Lush What does Vegan leather stand for? Through the years it has been called many names. Pleather, PU (polyurethane) , Artificial leather, Faux leather or Vegan leather. If you think that vegan leather is a new thing you are mistaken. It has been around for many years. But like with everything else it has been through a big evolution. Pleather is a term used to describe a material that is almost like leather, but cheaper. So a reason to buy this product would be to save money. Vegan leather is a term used to describe a product that has been made without harming animals and is free of any animal by-products. You can see which shoes are vegan by the green V stamp on their photo. This is to reassure you that this product is cruelty and animal labour free. Ava Forever But is Vegan leather for me? Easy to clean - Vegan leather is for you if you don’t want to spend too much time cleaning your shoes. It can be done using a damp cloth and that’s it. Waterproof - No need for spraying on protective spray because the Vegan leather is waterproof. So if you get caught in the rain, you won't get wet feet. Unless you decide to jump in big puddles. Looks almost the same – Our Vegan leather looks and feels almost like the regular leather does. They are soft and comfortable and will mold to the feet over time. Price - Vegan leather and regular animal leather are similarly priced. Many people think that vegan leather should be cheaper. However, this is not the case, the process of creating the shoe, the labour and the materials all cost the same amount and therefore the price between a leather and vegan shoe rarely differs.    Angie Manerva How can I tell if my shoes are made of Vegan leather? Because they look almost identical to regular leather shoes it can be hard to tell the difference just by looking at them. All our Vegan leather shoes are marked with our own symbol, a green sprout, and will always say VEGAN on the website. You can also look at the label under your shoe to see what it is made of. In their press release they noted that:   “Many dedicated people are doing valuable, game-changing, inclusion work in their organizations.   Gitte Sandquist is one of them, she’s the perfect example of a professional changing work environments while leveling the playing field for women.” Elsie Lollipop   The Red Shoe movement and Lola Ramona have had a long-standing relationship as the values of this movement are so close to those of Lola Ramona’s. Empowerment of women is something we hope to achieve minute by minute by bringing gorgeous shoes to women Across the world. These shoes, designed to exude class style and attitude, help women to feel as confident as they can in their own skin when they go out into this world and to strive to be the greatest that they can be. Our part is small but it’s a commitment we always work hard to uphold.   In this time of international strife, good news is always good news so we as a company, and particularly Gitte, are delighted to accept this award and that the Red Shoe Movement for the courage they show in their conviction towards woman around the world.

Lola Ramona, over the years, has had the pleasure of working with many great people! None more so than those from the LGBTQ+ Community and this got us to thinking... How we could give back something to this wonderful community? Working with people from the community we have created a line of shoes that are inclusive and exciting and meant for everyone. They are designed with the LGBTQ+ community in mind and therefore these shoes will directly give back to charities that are at the heart of this amazing and diverse community! We want to make sure that everyone in this community is considered. So we ask you, our loyal customers and fans... What awesome LGBTQ+ charities should we take into consideration to receive contributions based off the sales of these shoes?  

At Lola Ramona we are always looking to see what we can do to being our customers something new. So for a while now we have been really excited about trying our hand at making shoes for kids and in 2020 we have finally done it! Our new shoes 'Serena Junior' are the offspring of our hugely popular Serena Sneaker line. They are fun, rock and roll sneaks for kids who love to dress up with style and attitude. Leopard leggings, denim jacket, tutu? They all suit these awesome little sneaks. These shoes are perfect mummy and kid shoes, they have been designed to be a perfect match for our Serena Kitty, OZ and Crusty styles so if you want to match with your little one then these shoes are the perfect pair.  These shoes are sneaker inspired fashion shoes and are made from leather and  a mesh upper with memory foam insole and bouncy EVA on the bottom. The sizes range from 26 all the way up to 35 with sizes 26 to 30 coming with super handy velcro straps. 31-35 are fitted out with laces just like the big kids!  We are super excited for these cute little sneaks and cant wait to bring more exciting styles to the line!   

At Lola Ramona challenging convention is our thrust, its what the company was founded upon. So we try to challenge norms with every collection we create, this winter our collections have been no different and if there was one collection to epitomise this drive it’s the wild vegan collection.     The Wild Vegan collection looks to push boundaries by creating styles that are free from any animal products but look like they are not! We have combined an array of different snakeskin materials into this collection both in shoes and bags in some of Lola Ramona’s most popular styles.   The pairing of Vegan and non-Vegan is meant to challenge the wearer of these products. Reptile skin is the anthesis of a vegan material yet here we are now creating shoes to look as though they are made from animals but in fact, are totally ethical. They will create debate and foster conversation, all at the same time looking absolutely amazing.   Unleash your wild side, in an ethically responsible way!
