Are you looking for some tips on how to keep your shoes in prime condition for a long time?
Before we tell you how to give your beautiful new shoes the best care we would like to share what NOT to do.

AVOID THE WASH:
Contrary to popular belief, the washing machine is a no-go zone for any type of canvas/knit or mesh shoe. Even the gentlest cycles can damage the glue that keeps your shoes together and make your soles look more worn out.

NO AIR:
Much like our skin, shoes require decent airflow to enable it to breathe. Never store shoes in plastic.

OVERWEARING:
Constantly wearing a single pair of shoes can irreversibly damage the structure of them, in which case, no amount of cleaning can save it. Rotate your shoe wardrobe often.

DRY FEET ONLY:
Always dry your feet before wearing shoes. Damp or moist feet can cause a multitude of health issues and also causes shoes to get moldy.

DON´T FORGET TO WIPE:
Mud and liquids should be wiped off as soon as possible, specifically from leather shoes to avoid stains.

FORGET THE HEATER:
Do not dry your damp shoes near a heat source. Air drying is best.

Now that you know what not to do here is some tips on how to give the best care to your shoes.

LEATHER:
Smooth skin must not dry out - therefore, regularly lubricate it with cream or leather grease (use a soft brush or cloth).
Start cleaning the shoes with a damp cloth or sponge and let them dry.
Then lubricate them and possibly finish polishing them with a soft cloth or brush to remove the cream residue and get a nice, glossy shoe.

SUEDE / NUBUCK:
Clean the shoes with a cleaning rubber pad and/or a mild soap solution that you massage in with a soft brush - do not soak the shoes, just wet it.
Wipe them off with a damp cloth and allow them to dry.
Brush the suede up with a suede brush.
After cleaning and care, the shoe / boot should be waterproofed again.

VEGAN LEATHER/PU:
It's super easy to deal with - and does not need to be waterproofed.
If they get dirty, just wipe it over with a damp cloth.

TEXTILE:
Don't throw them in the washing machine!
Instead, use a cleaning product to clean them.
If they are white, you can refresh the color with “Touch White”.
Also, remember to waterproof them to avoid wet feet.

PATENT:
Patent is leather that is lacquered. When you need to care for it, brush it free of dirt and wipe it with cotton wool or a cloth twisted in lukewarm water.

WINTER AND SALT SPOTS:
You can buy special products to clean your shoes or boots again if salt and mud have left their mark on your favorite shoes. If you do not own cleaning products for your footwear, you can actually remove nasty salt spots on your boots with a little lukewarm skimmed milk.
Use a cloth and dip gently. Allow the boots to dry completely before jumping into them again.
