Shoes With An Attitude ……. The story !
Lola Ramona was founded by Gitte Sandquist in 2006. The Brand is rooted in the Center of Copenhagen - Denmark.
Gitte Sandquist thought there was a certain type of shoes missing in the market, so she set out to establish a Lola Ramona in order to make them herself.
It was easy to start designing the shoes, but very difficult to find a name, actually The first shoes were sold without a logo, only the drawing of the girl was inside. The name should be feminine but also a bit rough. And it should be international.
Everybody should be able to pronounce it. It should be the name of a girl, with both a first and a last name.
The Lola Ramona name didn’t occur until 2 weeks before the shoes went into production.
It is obvious that the humor is a chosen part of the philosophy and the design.
The drawing of the girl is made by a Danish artist, and it´s the picture of a girl who falls because she is not use to wear high heels.
That is how many girls feel when they start their career in high heels. By putting this drawing underneath the shoes, the Lola Ramona Crew tells .. you that they felt the exact same way..but now they made shoes that you can live your life in…
At Lola Ramona all the shoes have a unique name, and the stripy heels and bows are always present.
This is a way to make the customers identify themselves with the product.
Once the customer has bought a shoe in which she feel´s comfortable, she should be able to go back to the shop and ask for;
Minnie, Connie, Elsie and then find the same comfort, but with a new design.
The Lola Ramona Crew find inspiration in each other in their everyday work. They always try to take the design a little further than you would expect. They are very often inspired by the trends of the streets, both in their own city, but also when they travel abroad.
The shoes do not have a specific target group, they are " without " age. It is more a question of…. What ever you as a woman can identify yourself with the design..- or not.
